Thinking about a trip to Columbus Isle first week of November (11/1).
1) How risky is this time weather-wise (looks like the tail-end of Hurricane Season)?
2) Does the flight from FLL 11/1 basically open the village? (Online, the village looks closed until 11/1). If so, are all activities up and operational from Day 1 - even before the Canadian and French flights arrive?

Never been to this Club Med but it looks lovely! Thanks in advance!

Weather shouldn't be a problem. A hurricane in November is rare. I can't answer a question about the flights. I have been to the club and the airport is almost literally next door.

If they have the club closed for remodeling, then, yes, this week would reopen the location. All things should be up and operating from day 1. However, CM isn't always the most dependable about meeting deadlines for remodeling. If they have a delay in opening, the club will offer you an alternative village or let you re-book. It isn't an adults only club, per se, but in the past they didn't have many activities for kids, so there shouldn't be many of them down there. There are direct flights from France so there probably will be a good number of French GM's there. The location is known for scuba, which means the night life isn't particularly great. Scuba divers don't drink a lot and get to bed early.

Have a good trip.

Years ago we went to Paradise Island for my 40th BDay for four days. Unfortunately, a low pressure area settled in and it was cool, windy, overcast/rainy the entire time. Of course it cleared the day we left. However, that can happen a lot of places. Have a great trip! We leave in a few days for Turks.
