Club Med Columbus Isle

Hi there, after a wonderfull holiday at CI last year we would like to make reservations again for this summer. Unfortunately we only have time the last 2 weeks of AUgust just before the club closes down for 6 weeks.I'm afraid that by example the beachclub will be closed, go's will be leaving etc, etc. Anybody experience with this or will it still be a great holiday?

I have not had that situation but I share your concern. Everyone is probably FIGMO. Think about Turks. Great beach although accomdations are average.

We've been there many times at the end of the season (late August)...not really a problem, although it's true some of the GO team are more focused on their future plans for the next season. But usually the weather has been beautiful & everyone (GO & GM) is very mellow. Columbus Isle in mid-late August is almost entirely European (GM's) so generally that means people are there for several weeks (as opposed to the US one-week vacation), so everyone gets to really know everyone else. The ocean temperature is like a bathtub....in a good way. It's beautiful (if no hurricanes).

Turcs is not an option because we are travelling with children. We will survive the GO's but my concern about the club itself so closing down of the beachbar by example or not the same quality standard as usual is no issue I understand from Adria.

Every summer, when we have been there in August until just before the Village closed, the Beach Bar & all other facilities have been open as usual.
Can't promise you it will be exactly the same this summer, of course, but we are expecting everything to be as it always has been before.
Don't know how old your children are, but I assume you know Columbus Isle is NOT a "Family Village". There are no special programs or facilities for kids, so it will be your job to entertain them and supervise them. (We took our own kids to many Villages like this when they were younger & it was not a problem; but some families who have only experienced mini-Club Villages before don't always realize that Columbus Isle is not child-centered.)
It's a beautiful Village & it's always full (mostly Europeans) in August....
