The original purveyors of all-inclusive holidays, Club Med has landed in Yabuli. The Heilongjiang ski resort has been the most serious contender in the Chinese ski scene for a few years now and with this latest addition, plus new state-of-the-art heated chairlifts and a cable car, the Year of the Rabbit is looking bright for China's wannabe snow bunnies.
Club Med know what they're doing when it comes to mountain resorts (with 23 around the world, Yabuli is the second in Asia after Japan's Sahoro) and their all-inclusive formula is already proving a hit with Chinese customers. As Catherine Nixey points out in her feature for the Financial Times, the concept of "holiday" is still a pretty recent phenomenon and so a vacation resort that holds your hand every step of the way appeals to the inexperienced Chinese market, though for the travel-savvy western consumer this kind of package can be too restrictive.
Guests have everything managed for them from A to Z and with Club Med Yabuli's ski-in-ski-out location, luxurious rooms, sports center, karaoke, restaurants and bars all on site and already paid up, there's no need to leave except to hit the slopes!
