Hey!

I'll be going to Bintan later this December. Could anyone who's been there recently PLEASE do me the favour of updating me on the GOs currently working there?

I like to know whether I know any of them beforehand. Who's in circus? fitness? entertainment? who's in the sports team?

Please,please,please, i wanna know!

Thanks

Dear Circus Mermaid

How are the rooms and facilities at CM Bintan ? The last time i went there, I felt these were a bit run-down and needed some maintenance and makeover.

How lucky you are to be a regular there !! I guess students have more free time than most people ; )

Hey Vinz

I just got back from bintan yesterday. The last time i was there, the village was undergoing renovations but they're finished now. When were you there last? Blocks K and L or M are now "deluxe seaview" and are therefore better and more expensive.

In my opinion the rooms are good. I don't spend much time in them anyway so don't trust my judgement too much. As long as i have light, a mirror, aircon enough closet-space and a good bed i'm fine! The rooms have all the those things. The facilities are great as well. I really like the pool (i hate the one in Bali and the it's better than the one in Phuket) the restaurant has a lot of variety and is heaps better than the one in Bali, and if you like circus, the team there is sensational! The chief of circus , Mac is great! If you're into fitness, there's a great fitness GO from NZ, Ange.

Are you planning a trip there? If you need details, i probably have very recent ones since i just got back, don't hesitate to ask. ;-)

To answer your question luciole i'm from Argentina, Spain, Venezuela and Japan. To answer YOUR question rei the circus team there is constituated of: mac (jap), rie (jap), giant (ind), claire (nz) and benny from nz just left (while i was there) and i'm guessing he'll be replaced but i don't know by who. As for sports, there's donna(aus), ange(nz), lindsey(aus) yaseen(mauritius), hertog(ind), damian from nz is the chief of sports. Enough info? dont hesitate to ask :-)

Circus Mermaid,

Since you've already been so many times to Ria Bintan, I'd like to ask you a favour. Could you please tell me what's the best way to get to Bintan from Singapore? I already know it's by ferry but what company? And should I book it in advance? And what's the best way to do it? I live in Poland so it's really far trip for me to get there and I prefer to have everything prepared before I get to Singapore

What's your opinion about this club? I've been to Bali and Cherating already and I loved the Malaysian Club very much. So is Bintan more or less beautiful than those 2 mentioned?

Thank a lot!
Magic.

magic,
from Changi airport take a taxi to Tanah Mera Ferry Terminal (15minutes) and look for the check-in counter of "Bintan Resort Ferries"

Hi Magic,

I love Bintan (as you might have guessed)! I find it very beautiful and I have a wonderful time everytime I go!

The village is not as typically Asian as Bali or Cherating (construction-wise), it is more modern (it's sort of Asian-modern if you see what I mean). I really don't mind I actually find it just as nice as the other Asian villages I've been to! Now some people prefer the typical balinese, malay, thai, buildings and if you prefer something more typical (as you are coming to Asia from Europe) you might not appreciate the village.

However, the beach is amazing (the best of all the Asian villages I've been to : Cherating, Phuket, Bali, Bintan) and the food is great (a lot of variety). The sports (circus fitness) are also very good. If you are into golf I've heard that the golf course is magnificent (i don't play golf myself but i have heard it from people who do). One negative point at the village is animation (shows...). Indeed, the quality of the shows is not as good as the ones in other Asian villages.

Concerning the ferry, the company is called "Bintan resort ferries" (there is only one). The trip is 45 minutes. A great thing about Bintan is that the bus trip from the terminal to the villages is only about 15 minutes. Concerning the bookings, i'm sorry but i can't really help you (i'm 15 and my parents ususally handle that), you should post a new topic asking about it, i'm sure people will be glad to help!

i suggest you visit www.clubmed.com.sg if you haven't already. Select Bintan and look at the pictures to see if it's to your taste (again this depends on wheter or not having a typical construction is important to you). Remember, just because it isn't typically Asian doesn't make it less beautiful than the other villages, i actually find some parts of the village much nicer than Phuket (the room blocks particularly).

hope i could help and don't hesitate to ask more questions if you need to ;-)

PS: check out the "would you recommend cherating?" topic in the Cherating forum. If you keep reading, people have compared it to other Asian villages and have talked about Bintan.

There are only about 2 and a half months officially left of the summer season, so soon the GOs will start getting their offers for the winter season. Right now, a lot of GOs probably don't know where they'll be in the winter.

Hi Rei, Thanks for your help. Although any information on any where any of the GO's from Bintan will be heading after this season woud be nice, I was more trying to understand when seasons start/finish than where yaseen will b heading.
Thanks, Claire

Hi Claire

In Bintan I asked to Yaseen his next village.
But he didn't know yet where he will go next. Usually they start to move October.
I asked him when he move let me know.
I'm not sure I can get mail from him. They are busy. If luckly I get mail, I post here.
He usualy mive every tow season. But it is not sure.

I only know Ikko(yoga) will be saty next season.

Hey!

It's been a long time since my last post!! Anyway, guess what? I got back from Bintan yesterday night (again!) haha. Well i was just re-reading this topic and saw that people were talking about yaseen. well, he'll be heading to Kabira next season he told me yesterday! If you have any questions don't hesitate although i can't promise i'll answer instantly...

As you said, the season ends at the end of october so most GOs are leaving. some know where to and some don't but if you ask me about some in particular i may know!

I will be there next weekend.

With most GOs leaving , I wonder if they are in the mood to still give the club med spirit

Who are the Bar GOs ?

Hello Circus Mermaid.

Thank you for your infomation. I like Yasen too. One of my mail friend said Yaseen will go Kabira. but I know Yaseen often kidding me.
so I will check really Yaseen is there. I will go Kabira end of Nov. and check him.

on the Japanese CM web site, we can see Kabira GO's but I cannot find him yet. Maybe he iis enjoying holiday.

By the way do you know where Mac go? I heard he leave Bintan.
And if you know some GO's move, tell me.
especially I want to know about fitness, circus and beach.
