I don't know if this has been asked and answered, but I would like an update if possible.
Are you able to climb the ruin at Chichen Itza as of now?
We are going in October and would like to know either way.
Thanks and I cannot wait.

When we were there in April we were not allowed to climb the ruins anymore. We were told it was a mixture of tourists fallings (i.e. lawsuits) and damage being done to the ruins.

The same was for El Mecco, which is the included excursion from the Village.

Are you still allowed to go inside the Temple of Kukulcan (El Castillo)? Now that will bring on some claustrophobia!

You can not climb Chichen Itza. We did visit in July and the Ek Balam ruin was very nice. In July we were allowed to climb the ruins. You might want to check again when you book the trip because there was talk that they might change it. I also heard great things about Coba and we plan to go there in Feb. Have fun.
