I have been to Kani in January-February and took a lot of photos.

Wonderful pictures you have. I was looking at the Who is Who and I did not see Kyle, the Life Guard. Was he still there when you were there? I was at Kani late Jan to 2 Feb. You looked vaguely familiar :)

Hi Jo,

we have been there definitive together - I was there from 23rd of Jan to 12th of Feb.

And of course I know Kyle - he is 'Chief of Beachteam' (sailing surfing cajak). Kyle, Yudi (beach too) and me did together the NITROX lessons and had several lunches/dinners together. I don't know why I have not taken a pic of them. But I downloaded your photo of them from your album at imagestation and the photo 26 with the elderly german guy who danced with me and a lot of other dark haired girls every night..... One week ago I wrote a comment in your guestbook.
I tried to post for you the only photo of Kyle I have - but it did not work.

Wow! Bibi, you actually stayed for such a long time. I wish I could afford that kind of money and time to stay on for a stretch. I didn't know Kyle is the Chief of BeachTeam. I met him the first day that I was there and he was telling me that he's the lifeguard. Geez, guess he was jesting with me. I haven't logged into my album for quite awhile, will go take a peek later.

So where's your next CM trip to?

Hi Joeyam,
When I was at Kani, Kyle was the lifeguard once a week, when the other lifeguards get their day off. The rest of the time, he worked on the beach with his team. Does anyone know if he got his placement?

Hey,
I can't believe Kyle is still going, I was at Lindeman when he was there.. he was transfered from there to somewhere in the asia zone as chief of beach. That was over a year and a half ago. Keep posted if someone finds where he is posted next.

While i was there, Kyle mentioned that it's his 3rd season at Kani and he still loves it so he might stay for another season. Maybe those who just returned from Kani would like to confirm his placement?

Your pictures are really super !

Can you tell me on which divesite you took your pictures of the two splendid nudibranch and nudibranch eggs ? Beautifull nudibranches (except the black/yellow/white) are hard to find in the North Male atoll and so I will have a special look during my next trip end of this month !

the photos of the first one were taken on one of our normal dives, those of the splended nudibranch with the eggs quite close to her were taken on the east side of the North Male Atoll when we made a whole day dive excursion to see sharks (too far away) and manta rays (wonderful in shallow waters - not diving, only snorkeling). I was budy diving with one of the instructors and he told me with more than 1000 dives in Maldives this was his first nudibranch of this kind over there!
I will have a look to my logbook and write to you the exact name of the dive sites.

I had a look to my logbook last night at home (my internet access is in my office). The first (white) nudibranch was on a plateau (before reaching a wall with Lobsters) at Furana Thila. The second (yellow with eggs) war on the day excursion to the east side of the North Male Atoll at Boduhiti Thila.

How much I would like to go with you! If you see anyone of the diving team of Kani - give them my regards!

Hi Rob,

I think you are asking about photo 26 in the album "Faces of Kani". The guy with the bandana is Martin. He is a dive instructor from Vienna, Austria. He has a job in Vienna with lots of overtime so he is able to spend two or three months about february-april as dive instructor for Euro-Divers in Maldives. He told me, he had jobs in the past as GO in a sailing team when his application for Euro-Divers was too late - maybe he had other jobs too.
He is one of the best dive instructors I know, because diving is not his job but his passion! And he is a nice guy too.

I've at last mastered the technology and have put up some photos from our trip to Kani in January 2006. The pictures are absolutely wonderful! The interior of the room looks very similar in style to how the rooms at the new Mauritius village 'Albion' will be.

Isn't Gilles (Lacrampe) a great Chef de Village.

Luca (photo #4). Hm... I know him, just can't remember where from? What is his job

Luca is a fantastic guy and his job is Chef des Sports. Unfortunately we didn't get to know Gilles very well because he was away for a while but he was very friendly and always walking round the village talking to people. Luca did the shows whilst Gilles was away and he was fantastic. Tika the choreographer is very young but she's doing a great job with the shows.

Since Luca is the CDS, he must have been with CM for some time already and thus my thought of having met him somewhere already.

I went to kani one week and I stayed on this paradise during 15 days!! It was very good holidays for me !!
I saw that you have taking lots of photos of the club and GO. But I didn't see my favourite GO YASEEN :(
He was a very good friends and we spent great moments together!!
I want to know if you had a photo of this mauritian gym activities GO ! He you have one please can you sell me ??

Now Otto is in kani !! I did lots of dives with him! he is super !! In kani my favourite GO were first YASEEN (fitness) and BENJAMIN (my favourite DJ !!), Ronald (the lifeguard!), Sunan, Luca (what a nice italian !!) Prisca, Nissar (maybe is his name?) He do Robinson excursion , and a for Gilles the CDV and his wife alexandra !!!

WHat is Club Med Kani like? Is there lots of families, or mostly couples????

Do you have any pics of CHa Cha, Tika, Maki?
